CHRISTMAS WEDDING AT TLAQUEPAQUE

Just days before Christmas, Kristelle Love and Benjamin Joquet got married in the Tlaquepaque Chapel. The lovely couple grew up in France and moved to the Sedona area recently. Kristelle is a massage therapist and will be opening a new business in the Village of Oak Creek in 2010.

Carol Marlene Anderson with Lord and Rose performed the very intimate wedding ceremony in the Chapel. Kristelle’s sister took the wedding photographs of the beautiful couple. There were holiday decorations throughout the village which made a lovely back drop for wedding portraits. Kristelle was happy that her father, mother and grandmother could attend the ceremony but her grandfather was in France and was unable to attend. Benjamin had his parents in attendance in the chapel along with other family members and friends of the couple. There were two lovely flower girls and a cute ring bearer helping with the ceremony.

Although we had received snow the evening before the wedding, everything had melted and the temperatures were much warmer for their wedding. The night was clear with the stars and moon above the Chapel Courtyard. It was a perfect evening for the perfect wedding. Congratulations to Kristelle and Benjamin and Happy New Year.

Although the pandemic continues, Tlaquepaque is moving forward with the planning for this year's Day of the Dead festivities. We are evaluating the current health situtation daily and value the safety of our guests, merchants, and community. DAY OF THE DEAD & MARIGOLD MURAL PROJECT

Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village has provided the perfect setting for south of the border fiestas, festivals, and cultural extravaganzas for the last four decades. Unfortunately, this year we are dealing with the unprecedented COVID pandemic and must pause our highly attended Day of the Dead celebration. There's good news though! Our annual Marigold Mural project is back this year with a NEW SAFE AND EXCITING FORMAT. Join us on Wednesday, November 4 through Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Calle Independencia. This project is unique to Tlaquepaque and an artful way to remember your loved ones. The artist Lovejoy will be in attendance again this year, handing out markers as she guides and answers questions regarding the mural and your contributions. Face masks and sanitizer will also be available for those who need them.
