OUR BEHIND-THE-SCENE HEROES
Bursts of color from fragrant seasonal blossoms, sycamores reaching up to the sky, beautifully landscaped plazas and pathways — these are some of the first things that captivate visitors when they come to Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village.
Although we are currently closed, our incredible crew continues to work to ensure this Arizona state gem is ready and flourishing when we reopen.
Jared Hawley, our multi-talented Facilities Manager pictured above, has been a part of the Tlaquepaque team since 1999. Day-after-day, he and his team carefully tend to the grounds and its extensive flowerbeds and sycamore groves. We want to extend a big thank you to them for all that they do, always, but in particular during these more challenging times. Smiles from some members of the team below in a pre-covid photograph. Fortunately, gloves are part of their standard uniform. With current social distancing, they are also maintaining those measures to stay safe.
As we all know, our lives still go on. With this in mind, we wanted to spread some cheer and congratulate a few members of our fabulous team.
Welcome to Oliver, the newest member of the Tlaquepaque family!
Jason Cup Choy and his wife, Hannah Cup Choy, welcomed the birth of their son Oliver Jethro Michael Cup Choy, March 25, 2020, 9:44 pm, 8lbs 13oz. This little-cutie brings hope and joy to the whole Tlaquepaque family.

And they lived happily ever after...
We're also celebrating from afar the marriage of our crew member, Fernando Rangel to Maria Victoria Angulo on April 8, 2020. Theirs is a true unexpected love story. They met at Tlaquepaque in the fall of 2017. She was vacationing in Sedona from Brooklyn, NY. He was working. He saw her across the Plaza and they started talking. The rest is history. The photo below is taking in front of the specialty store Just Us Girls
, the spot where they met. We wish them many, many healthy and happy years together.

Please join us in celebrating our own Tlaquepaque heroes. We are grateful to them for their commitment to their work, our Tlaquepaque Family, and for sharing the joys of their lives with us.
