April Tlaquepaque Happenings!
Spring is officially here in Sedona, Arizona and we are thrilled to welcome the warmer weather and the gorgeous flowers and vegetation that are starting to pop into full bloom! Now is the time to stop by Tlaquepaque
and enjoy outdoor dining, drinks, new artwork and seasonal merchandise to explore in our shops and galleries. You will want to stop by for the start up of our local Farmer's market and anticipated and very enjoyable Gaetano and Friends in Patio de las Campanas this month.
Whether you have an hour, an afternoon or a day with us, there is always something new to discover at Tlaquepaque. Below we have highlighted the special activities for April.
Flamenco in the Courtyard at Tlaquepaque
Join master guitarist, Gaetano for spirited musical performances. Presented by Tlaquepaque's El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano , enjoy tapas and your favorite beverage from the restaurant's outside bar. Performances will begin Sunday, March 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Stop by Sunday's through Tuesday evening's to get your feet tapping and your spirits lifted. Free event.
Join us for First Friday in the Galleries on Friday, April 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ascending Spirit Gallery of Honshin Fine Art presents "The Energy of the Merkaba." This exhibit explores the sacred Merkaba. A talk the second Friday of the month, April 12, is also being held. Sacred Symbols: Rugs are one of the original forms of art. Weavers were inspired by t he world around them using sacred symbols and images of nature in their designs. Visit Azadi Fine Rugs to see a variety of examples of this woven art. Stop by Suite B219.
Artists work across different mediums, shapes, sizes, and ideas --but one thing remains constant their love of creation. Join Kuivato for "Kindred Spirits" celebrating artists like Sedona ceramicist, Sumati Colpitts, world renowned cast glass artist Mark Abildgaard, and others who share a creative spirit. Meet Sumati, Mark and other local artists, browse the gallery and enjoy small bites and drinks. Suite B125.
"The Ever-Evolving West: The Old and the New," for more than 30 years, Mountain Trails Gallery has been offering paintings and sculpture featuring historical narratives, Western artifacts and cultural objects, along with men and women who are legendary. The gallery looks ahead to include artists who work with new materials and ways to express this timeless subject. Suite A201
Meet Ann Bauden, Sedona fiber artist, displaying her most recent works at the Quilts Ltd Gallery. Anne will present a varied collection of work from Mini Quilt Kits to larger one-of-a-kind Wall-Hangings. A description of the work in the artist's words. Rowe Fine Art Gallery . " Joshua Tobey: Art with Attitude." Impressionistic wildlife sculptor Joshua Tobey returns for his annual one-man show. The Colorado based artist will meet his collectors and talk about his techniques. April 5th 5 - 8 p.m. and April 6th 1-4 p.m. He will debut his new work and answer questions about the inspiration behind his sculptures. Suite A102
