Dia de los Muertos Tlaquepaque Sedona Arizona

Day of the Dead Celebration

Tlaquepaque comes alive with traditional fiestas and festivals from times gone by and contemporary Mexico. Cinco de Mayo and Fiesta del Tlaquepaque draw huge crowds every year. Tlaquepaque is transformed with colorful decorations, lights and sound and wafting aromas reminiscent of Old Mexico.

These popular year-round events bring fiery flamenco dancers, mariachi players, an array of talented musicians, and gorgeously outfitted folklorico dancers in to Tlaquepaque, delighting audiences with a glimpse of life South of the Border.

Other festivals have become long standing Tlaquepaque traditions like the lighting of 6000 luminarias during Festival of Lights in early December, kicking off the holiday season. The creative and fanciful decorating of holiday trees by local artists during Festival of Trees has become a new Sedona favorite as well as the Day of the Dead celebration in late fall which just gets better and better every year.

Many of the Tlaquepaque sponsored events support local charities that benefit the Sedona community. Be sure to check out our full events calendar to get a preview of the festivities… all family-friendly and perfect for weekend getaways.
