TLAQUEPAQUE RECEIVES 2009 BRIDE’S CHOICE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

Wendy Lippman • Apr 18, 2009

Sedona, Arizona’s Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village has been chosen to receive the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire network.

Recent Tlaquepaque brides determined the award through surveys and reviews from WeddingWire network. The award specifically recognizes vendors in the top three percent who “demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility.”

Bringing couples planning their weddings together with wedding vendors across the country (100,000+) in an easy-to-navigate website, WeddingWire network provides the most up-to-date information and wedding planning portal for soon-to-be newlyweds.

Comments on the WeddingWire website ( http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/tlaquepaque-chapel-sedona/8797b9d0faf4ba94.html ) regarding Tlaquepaque as a premier wedding destination were consistently complimentary of Jill Kyriakopulos, Tlaquepaque’s staff wedding coordinator. “The venue was breathtaking, the staff was helpful and went way above and beyond their duties. We were so very pleased with the service provided. Jill was great and very easy to work with.”

“We are very happy to be receiving the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award . Over the years we have developed a first class wedding service that is reasonable, flexible and perfectly tailored for intimate weddings under 100 guests,” remarked Wendy Lippman, Tlaquepaque, GM and managing partner. “If you have ever dreamed of having a beautiful traditional wedding in a gorgeous romantic setting, then consider the non-denominational Chapel at Tlaquepaque.”

Tlaquepaque, fashioned after a Mexican village in every detail, is like going back in time. Vine-covered stucco walls; cobble-stoned walkways and magnificent arched entryways lead into magical garden nooks and spacious patios. It gives one the feeling that Tlaquepaque has been around for centuries.

With three stunning outdoor patios and a new upper terrace overlooking Tlaquepaque’s signature floral fountain in Patio del Norte, it’s easy to find the right fit for any wedding reception. Additionally the indoor ballroom, La Sala de los Milagros (Room of Miracles) is available for up to 100 guests.

We ask that you check our website at tlaq.com/events before October 27 to monitor updates. Tlaquepaque is an open-air venue; however, all attendees will need to manage social distancing and masking accordingly.

Events at Tlaquepaque are made all the more memorable by the event planning and food the guests enjoy. Whether attending an engagement party or wedding, the beauty of Tlaquepaque’s architecture and grounds is enhanced when the guest’s culinary experience is as artful and delightful as the surroundings. Here are a couple of our exclusive vendors who make that possible.

Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village has provided the perfect setting for south of the border fiestas, festivals, and cultural extravaganzas for the last four decades. Unfortunately, this year we are dealing with the unprecedented COVID pandemic and must pause our highly attended Day of the Dead celebration. There's good news though! Our annual Marigold Mural project is back this year with a NEW SAFE AND EXCITING FORMAT. Join us on Wednesday, November 4 through Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Calle Independencia. This project is unique to Tlaquepaque and an artful way to remember your loved ones. The artist Lovejoy will be in attendance again this year, handing out markers as she guides and answers questions regarding the mural and your contributions. Face masks and sanitizer will also be available for those who need them.

The Micro-Wedding Plan a bite-sized version of a traditional wedding and celebrate with 50 or fewer of your closest friends and family. Usually, a shorter timeline (3 hours instead of 5), these intimate events still include a ceremony and celebration with flowers, cake, music, and more, and can be designed to your liking. Bonuses: More time to spend with each of your guests A more affordable solution or an opportunity to allocate money to the things you care about the most (you no longer have 150 people coming, so you can spend more money on your dress!) Less to plan and manage which can mean less stress For the eco-conscious, a smaller carbon footprint
