Gold Door Gallery
The Gold Door Gallery was one of the original shops to open its doors in Tlaquepaque. We are open 10:00am to 5:00pm Sunday through Tuesday, and 10:00am to 8:00pm Wednesday through Saturday. It is located in the quaint Patio Azul and is "home" to the creations of 12 Arizona artists, each with an individual and recognizable style. The distinguished artists use an array of gemstones, many of which are native to Arizona such as turquoise, garnet, peridot, and amethyst. Two of the artists, Tom Sawyer and Jerry West, both trained gemologists, work with every type of gemstone from around the world and they design 14k and 18k gold mountings which are fashioned to the shape and cutting of the gems. The necklace designs at the Gold Door Gallery consist of all types of gemstone beads and are designed and executed by Jill West. Her favorite medium to work with is pearls. A few of the other design specialties at the gallery consist of creations by very unique and talented artists.
