Environmental Realists, also known as ERTCO, is one of the original shops opened in the first phase of Tlaquepaque's development in the early '70's. ERTCO is well known for its friendly and knowledgeable staff that values their customers and goes beyond the norm to assist each visitor. The work of over 120 craftspeople/artisans is represented in fun and unusual displays. Many of the antique display cases were brought in from the south; an assortment of antique tools adorns the walls.
The focus of the store over the years has been to provide a relaxed, friendly environment offering affordable handcrafted jewelry, wood and other gift items to the discerning buyer.
ERTCO features handmade jewelry in various metals such as gold and silver contemporary pieces, many set with a variety of colored stones such as Australian fire opal or pearls; some work in niobium and anodized aluminum.
The many woodworkers provide a variety of items made from exotic hardwoods found around the world. Gifts range from gorgeous jewelry boxes in various sizes, colorful cutting boards, turned bowls and vases, clocks,
money clips, buckles and game boards.
Unique copper candlesticks, funky metal animals, enameled copper switch plates, knives set with stone or wood inlay and limited edition watches are just a few of the items available.
We now offer our wish list registry - not just for brides, but for YOU if you've found a treasure you wish you could have. Register with name and item information (i.e. style #, artist, etc...) - then take a card to your loved ones with the note "they know what I like!"
