December 11th - Festival of Lights

Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm. This one day event - A cherished tradition which involves the lighting of six thousand luminarias in Tlaquepaque’s courtyards and walkways at 5:00pm. Dozens of entertaining events, including performances by musicians and singers are scheduled.

Schedule:

3:00pm - 5:30pm. Santa Claus and his elf will be in the Patio del Norte accompanied by Tom and Shondra Jepperson singing Christmas Carols. The Rojas Family Mariachis will be performing in the Plaza de la Fuente. In the Tlaquepaque Chapel, we will have a variety of musicians performing from 3-8pm.

5:30pm - 7:30pm. The River of Life Tabernacle Choir will perform in the Plaza de la Fuente. The entertaining singers will be celebrating their 14th year at the Festival of Lights Event. In the Patio del Norte, The Chavez Jazz Trio will be performing until 8:00pm. Mariachis will also be roaming throughout our village until 7:00pm.

Specially designated luminarias honoring cancer survivors, victims can be purchased in advance (see information below). You can ride the free trolley from the Uptown Municipal Parking lot to Tlaquepaque from 3:00pm - 8:30pm. For additional information call (928) 282-4838.
