September 3rd - Andrea Smith Gallery - Super Realist Artist Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith, spiritual and visionary artist, has a magical way of connecting spirit, humanity and culture with art. When viewing Matthew’s work, you’ll immediately recognize time spent in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. An intuitive nature enables him to adapt to the varying cultures.

When talking with Smith, he stated "I love to paint the eyes into my art, whether the subject is mythical or real." Like they say, the eyes are a journey to the soul. The viewer can see this in Smith's version of King Tut, or a commissioned portrait of a patron. He always seems to capture the reality and the spirit of the imagery.

Visit the Andrea Smith Gallery during Tlaquepaque’s First Friday in September as Matthew unveils several of his latest paintings. He will also be exhibiting at the gallery on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
