Kim Kori will be unveiling her latest bronze wildlife sculptures this weekend at Geoffrey Roth Gallery. Each sculpture is playful and remarkably life-like. Her meticulous attention to detail and unlimited imagination are beautifully expressed in each piece.
With a broad background in jewelry making, fine woodworking and the art of scrimshaw engraving, Kim took a job in a fine-art foundry. There she learned the process of bronze casting. It was while working at a foundry that Kim decided to start learning the process of sculpting her vision in bronze using the lost wax technique.
When you view one of Kim’s bronze wildlife sculptures you are immediately taken in by the life-like attention to detail. Each one of her pieces has a presence and personality that captures the viewer. “When I add my imagination to the miracles of nature, I find the essence of my work.”
