![]() March 20th - Showcasing Eddie Sakamoto Designs at Geoffrey Roth![]() Eddie Sakamoto is known for jewelry that combines contemporary designs and architectural forms. His designs feature geometric styles that balance sophistication and elegance in 18 karat gold and platinum, rings, pendants and earrings. Eddie Sakamoto, a third generation Japanese-American, was born in Seattle, Washington. Eddie was trained in graphic design and had a great interest in architectural and industrial design. However, after five years employment with a prominent jewelry designer, he began to see jewelry as an alternative means of creative expression. Aspiring to present his ideas to a larger audience, he moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to establish his own jewelry design company, Concept 1- Sakamoto. Describing himself as a minimalist, his challenge is to create jewelry where less is more. He avoids using ideas that are mostly decorative or ornamental. As in many Japanese art forms, negative space plays a leading role in defining his style. Platinum and 18 karat gold take on strong sensual shapes. His lines curve gracefully combining the feminine and masculine form. We look forward to welcoming you in our gallery and introducing you to these stunning pieces. Geoffrey Roth, under the Bell Tower in Tlaquepaque since 1974 open every day from 10am to 5pm. 928-282-7756. www.GeoffreyRothGallery.com.
