May 7th - A Weekend with the Art of Alex Sepkus at Geoffrey Roth

Geoffrey Roth Gallery will be hosting a weekend with the designs of Alex Sepkus. We will have an opening artist reception on Friday May 7th from 5-8pm. Continuing thru Sunday May 9th.

Eclectic, humorous, classic, intellectual, detailed, organic, timeless, microscopic, playful, modern, meticulous, all describe the wonderful jewelry of Alex Sepkus. Perfectly rendered in 18K gold or platinum, his designs speak to each individual with a uniqueness all their own.

Growing up in his native Lithuania, Alex Sepkus’ artistic style seems to have developed from the scarcity of raw materials available to him. Frequently working under a microscope, he made very small pieces in metal that were half painting and half sculpture. Alex often included inscriptions in miniature. These are the techniques which he still employs today.
His intricately patterned pieces are cast in platinum, eighteen karat yellow or rose gold and set with diamonds and colored stones. Texture and design is added by hand, using a technique called stippling.

Alex combines his own imagination with designs and symbols many diverse cultures around the world have long used. Recognized by many as a “jeweler’s jeweler”, each one of Alex’s pieces is clearly a labor of love brought about by phenomenal attention to detail.
